Its performance is similar to ethylene glycol butyl ether, but the odor toxicity is lower than the former, and can be used instead of ethylene glycol butyl ether. The rapid volatilization and excellent solubility of organic stains make it an excellent solvent for household and industrial cleaners, degreasing agents, metal cleaners, hard surface cleaners, glass cleaners, and general purpose cleaners.
